Consenting
to Rhythm

Colors yellow infuse my eyes,
with change they
confuse me to compromise
my instincts
but I let summer go around
the world once,
permit its spin on axial
earthbound stays
I'll allow the sun to take
sabbatical
from gravitational pulls
that made me smile
I'll forgo days of summer
nights to be here
with you to linger long for
miles of winter
